Healthy and Nutritious, this Chilla (Indian Savory Oats Crepe) should be one of the must have breakfast dish. This is one of the quick and healthy breakfast ready under 20 minutes. This can also be consumed as evening snack with green chutney and hot cup of tea

One of the popular and traditional Indian breakfast which has lots of health benefits. You can always spice this up with addition of green chilies or spices

**In case you do not have Oats flour, just ground oats to fine powder and then sieve it, Oats flour is ready

Preparation time: 5 mins Cooking time: 20 mins

Servings: 2


  • 1/2 cup oats flour
  • 1/4 cup besan /Gram flour/Chickpea flour
  • 2 tbsp whole  wheat flour /Buckwheat Flour
  • 2 tbsp rice flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2-3 tbsp finely chopped onion
  • 1 cup whisked yogurt
  • 1 tbsp grated carrot
  • 3 tbsp chopped coriander leaves/cilantro

Steps to prepare

  • In a bowl, add all flour with salt and mix
  • Add chopped veggies and whisked yogurt. Mix well
  • Add water as required to form smooth flowing consistency batter
  • Heat non stick pan. Brush with oil
  • Pour laddle of batter and spread evenly on tawa/pan like crepe
  • Drizzle little oil over edges
  • Flip and cook on both sides until golden brown.
  • Serve hot with sauce/mint/tomato chutney and cup of hot tea/coffee
