One of the most popular fried dough dish dessert loved across the globe is Donuts, You can serve it as is or eat with sugar/chocolate or various glazes as per the taste. I have made eggless version and have provided step by step instructions to prepare it. I have used Chocolate spread for glaze, we generally have some or the other chocolate spread at home, you can directly apply the spread on donut or do it the way I have done it

Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 tbsp instant active yeast
- 4 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste
- 1/2 cup lukewarm milk
- 3.5 tbsp soft unsalted butter
- 3 tbsp curd
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
For Frosting
- 7-8 tbsp Hershey’s/ Nutella or any chocolate spread
- 4-5 tbsp heavy cream
Steps to prepare
- In a bowl, mix flour and baking soda

- Make 3 wells in flour mix, add yeast, sugar and salt respectively. Gently mix everything well

- Add vanilla extract, butter and curd

- Now add lukewarm milk and gently mix everything

- Knead for 5 minutes into smooth pliable dough, even if its bit sticky, do not add more flour. The dough should be soft

- Cover and rest dough in warm place for 90 minutes

- The dough would have doubled in size, gently punch the air

- Knead dough for 2-3 minutes

- Divide dough into 2 equal portions

- Dust surface with flour and roll each dough into thick circle

- Using cookie cutter and small bottle cap, cut into donut shape. Repeat until dough is completed

- Place donuts on baking tray lined with parchment paper/ greased foil or greased plate, there should be gap between the donuts

- Heat oil for frying, alternatively this can be baked too. Baked version is more healthy while the fried version is more tastier

- Drop donuts in hot oil and deep fry over medium heat until golden brown


- Drain excess oil over tissue paper

- For Glaze: In a pan, heat cream over low heat, add Chocolate spread and gently mix until well combined. Switch off. Depending on the thickness of the glaze required, adjust the quantity of cream



- Dip the donuts in prepared chocolate glaze or use icing spatula apply glaze over donuts

- Add sprinklers on top, this is optional. Now allow the chocolate glaze to set completely

- Serve Donuts with milk or coffee
